Curl Curl Ward
Dee Why, Freshwater, Brookvale, North Curl Curl, North Manly, Queenscliff. Established residential areas, redevelopment and smaller sites frequently bring mature trees close to homes, driveways, boundaries and neighbouring properties.
Local AQF Level 5 arborist reports, tree removal guidance and Council support across all five Northern Beaches wards.
Northern Beaches Council is divided into five wards: Curl Curl, Narrabeen, Manly, Frenchs Forest and Pittwater. Each part of the Northern Beaches has different development patterns, site constraints, tree populations and property conditions.
Whether the issue is a tree you want assessed for removal, a Development Application near retained trees, a safety concern or construction close to established trees, the first step is establishing the correct Council pathway for the property and the tree.

Select the ward covering your property for local information about tree removal, DA arborist reports, development conditions and common arboricultural issues.
Dee Why, Freshwater, Brookvale, North Curl Curl, North Manly, Queenscliff. Established residential areas, redevelopment and smaller sites frequently bring mature trees close to homes, driveways, boundaries and neighbouring properties.
Collaroy, Cromer, Wheeler Heights, Elanora Heights, Collaroy Plateau, Oxford Falls. Established canopy, varied terrain and continuing residential redevelopment mean tree condition, property impacts and Council requirements often need to be considered together.
Balgowlah, Seaforth, Fairlight, Manly Vale, Clontarf, Manly. Constrained lots, neighbouring trees, older buildings and redevelopment can make tree decisions more complex, particularly where mature trees are close to homes and boundaries.
Belrose, Forestville, Killarney Heights, Davidson, Frenchs Forest. Larger trees, bushland interfaces and biodiversity considerations can affect both removal and development pathways, particularly where native vegetation and mapped controls are relevant.
Avalon Beach, Newport, Mona Vale, Bayview, Church Point, Warriewood. Sloping sites, native vegetation, large mature trees and difficult access can make tree assessment, removal and development near trees more complex.
Tree removal on private property is not simply a suburb-by-suburb issue. The relevant Northern Beaches Council controls apply across the LGA, while the condition of the tree, the site and any additional planning or environmental controls determine the pathway for an individual property. Where professional evidence is required, an AQF Level 5 Consulting Arborist can assess tree health, structure, defects, targets, retention value and the reason removal is proposed. Where approval is required, Council makes the decision. Once the appropriate exemption or Council approval is established, tree removal can commence.
Development Applications involving trees may require arboricultural information about trees proposed for removal, trees being retained and the potential impact of building work. This can apply to new homes, extensions, pools, driveways, retaining walls and other work close to established trees. Our DA arborist reporting can address tree retention, Tree Protection Zones (TPZ), Structural Root Zones (SRZ), construction impacts and practical tree-protection requirements where these are relevant to the proposal.
Northern Beaches Tree Permit Services is the Northern Beaches arm of Arbor Express. Our AQF Level 5 Consulting Arborists provide professional tree assessment, Council reporting and development arboriculture backed by more than 32 years of arboricultural experience.
Our assessment is based on the condition, risk, retention value and Council requirements applying to the tree. Where further investigation is justified, advanced assessment methods can be used to help establish what is occurring before a recommendation is made.

Send us the property address and we can identify the relevant Northern Beaches ward and the likely arboricultural pathway. If you have photographs, Council correspondence or development plans, send those as well.
